A LEADER WITHIN THE COMMUNITY
Bruce served on the Mayor’s fund to Advance NYC for 12 years under Mayor Mike Bloomberg. In addition, contributed to organisations such as the Bronx, Queens and Sunnyside Chambers of Commerce, the Queens District Attorney’s Business advisory Council under Judge Brown, was a retired director of the NY Law Enforcement Foundation and the Flushing Willets Point LDC.
Bruce’s commitment to his values is demonstrated by his founding of Big Block Capital Group, a family office that helps start-ups, entrepreneurs, and underserved communities find sustainability and growth. He then founded the Big Block Capital Impact Partners to support companies that make a positive impact on society and the environment.
His first investment with the group was for Dome Headsets which through patented stereo bone induction technology allow hearing impaired the chance to hear, feel and experience music. He has also invested with Connected Spine which allows individuals with severe back pain to receive treatment in an outpatient same day facility.
LEADING INVOLVEMENT BY THE BUSINESS WORLD
As a philanthropist and donor, Bruce has spent his life giving back to his community. He is a lifetime international gold member of YPO, a global leadership community for business executives. Bruce is also a charter member of the new prestigious Mosaic YPO Chapter. This Chapter now represents 250 members from over 26 countries. Bruce is a member of three YPO forums and is the current moderator for both a US based Real Estate forum and the Global Sports and Entertainment forum.
Bruce is serving as a trustee for Columbia Presbyterian NY Hospital Queens from 1999-2019 and as Capital Campaign and Past Chairman to build the YMCA facilities in Queens, New York and Long Island City. With this investment the facilities went from serving 1,500 children in garages to a multimillion dollar facility serving 10,000 children a few years.
Bruce also founded the Unisphere foundation in Flushing Meadows and served as chairman until the net proceeds were donated to the NYC Parks Department Foundation.

Over the years Bruce’s philanthropic activity was recognised by many organisations and foundations.
He has received numerous awards and government citations such as the Humanitarian award from the Good Samaritan foundation, the Paul Harris Fellow award from the Queensborough Rotary Club, the YMCA Greater New York Volunteer of the year award, the Guardian Angels Business Angel award, the Good Scout award from the NY Boy Scouts, the Queens Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and the Sunnyside Community Services & the LIC Lions Club Businessman of the year award and the Little Neck Douglaston Memorial Day parade, King of Queens, the Astoria Civic Association & the Flushing Town Hall Cultural Center recipients, along with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Shaare Zedek Man of the Year award, and the Chabad of Roslyn for his community work.
